The Swan, Sutton Valence

The Swan is an ancient public house, and is reputed to have been a pub since 1348.

The Swan is run by Jeremy, Fiona & Adam Hinchliffe together with their Chef, Mike Twaite, and an enthusiastic team which ensures you of a warm and welcoming atmosphere, good ales and superb food.

We serve a selection of traditional favourites, while keeping in season with fresh produce, meat and fish. We use local suppliers regularly including the renowned sausages from HMP East Sutton Park. We like to know where our ingredients come from, so that we can ensure that our menu is fresh and well received.

We have seating for up to forty in the restaurant, and up to sixty in our stepped garden and terrace. The top area of the garden has magnificent views over the village, and across many miles of the Weald of Kent.

The Swan came into being as one of Kent Coaching Inns for travellers en-route to major destinations such as Dover, Folkestone & Margate’. Set in the picturesque village of Sutton Valence it still serves the local community as well as those coming from further afield and is very much an integral part of the village.
